Viña del Mar, March 14, 2025 – At the panel discussion titled “The Importance of the Logistics Sector for Global Development,” the GEN Group and the Business School of Adolfo Ibáñez University (UAI) signed a collaboration agreement that promises to open new opportunities for the school’s graduates. The signing of the agreement took place during the panel discussion, with the participation of Felipe Arriagada, CEO of GEN; Andrés Schultz, Business Development Manager; and Alejandro Montecinos, Associate Dean of the UAI Business School, who acted as moderator.
This agreement will allow UAI graduates to access various projects and positions within the GEN Shipping Group and its subsidiaries, facilitating the incorporation of new generations and the retention of talent in the shipping, logistics, and transportation industries.
During the panel discussion, Felipe Arriagada highlighted the importance of continuous growth in logistics and the crucial role of the industry today. “We must ensure that what we do in Chile can reach all parts of the world,” said Arriagada.
For his part, Andrés Schultz emphasized the relevance of digitalization, especially in automation and cybersecurity. “Thinking about logistics without thinking about technology is a mistake; it must be constantly developing and evolving,” said Schultz.
The event also featured the presence of GEN Director Beltrán Urenda Salamanca, who addressed the students present, as well as various representatives from UAI, such as the Vice-Rector of the Viña del Mar Campus, Claudio Osorio, who stated: “You are called to contribute to companies and the city, so that this talent stays in the region.”
