With a focus on collaboration, safety, and operational excellence, the event brought together representatives from GEN’s various port subsidiaries, along with clients, partners, and international experts.
On August 19 and 20, the Third GEN Ports Meeting was held, bringing together managers, executives from the group’s subsidiaries, employees, and international industry leaders to
exchange experiences, share best practices, and discuss the key challenges currently facing the port industry.
For Felipe Arriagada, General Manager of GEN, the group’s parent company, promoting these types of gatherings is essential to strengthening the company’s development by fostering collaboration across its different operations and creating spaces to share knowledge, identify opportunities for improvement, and collectively address the challenges facing the industry.
Throughout the two-day event, participants took part in a working agenda focused on strengthening collaboration among different ports, identifying innovative solutions, and developing strategies to advance toward more efficient, safer, and better-connected operations.
For Camilo Fernández, General Manager of Portuaria Cabo Froward (PCF), one of the meeting’s central themes was the importance of maintaining high operational standards.
“It is always important to talk about operational excellence and highlight safety, which is a fundamental pillar of our operations and of the sustainable development of the industry,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Matías Laso, General Manager of AGUNSA Southern Cone, emphasized the value of sharing knowledge and experiences across the diverse port environments of the region.
“It is important to share experiences among ports in different countries. We are constantly looking for the best ways to do things in each location, and these opportunities allow us to learn from one another and continue improving,” he said.
The Third GEN Ports Meeting reaffirmed the group companies’ commitment to advancing a more integrated port industry by strengthening relationships among key industry stakeholders and promoting knowledge-sharing to successfully address future challenges.
